Every year the US government rewards 55000 lucky candidates with green cards from all over the world. Some countries are excluded from this Program.Applicants rewarded with green cards will have all the rights and benefits of US citizens

| 2. Is there a special age related conditions for participating in the Lottery Program? |
|
No, there are no age related conditions. Upto the age of 18, the participation must be with Parents or legal guardian except those who have achieved their National Diploma under age of 18 in which case they can apply independently. Those between 18 and 21 can aply with parents or independently.

| No, this depends on the decision of each applicant.

|
Yes, you can participate in this Program without being a resident in the country that you are living provided after acceptance and for interview which takes approx. 6month to one year after acceptance you will have a valid passport.

| 9. If I am separated from my spouse how can I participate in this Program? |
|
If you are seperated legally then you do not need to provide name of your spouse. However, if the divorce proceedings are not completed then you need to name your spouse in the application.

| 10. If I get married after acceptance what I need to do? |
|
|
If marriage has taken place bfere the date of acceptance and you have named your spouse in second application form there will be no problem and your spouse will the US Visa together with you. However, if marriage takes place after sending second application then it takes between 3 to 6 years until spouse is awarded with green card.

Results are announced each year from end of April to end of July.

| 13. What are educational and work experience requirements for this Program? |
|
|
Official requiremnet states minimum High School education or its equivalent or 2 years of work experience in a job that requires minimum 2 years training in the last 5 years. High School education or its equivalent means completion of 12 years education in primary and secondary schooling in USA or successful completion of US equivalent primary and secondary in another country.

| 14. How is “Nationality” defined? Are there any restrictions for those not born in the country of residence? |
|
In general, Nationality, means being Born in a specific country without any reference to residency or place of residence. According to Clause 200B of Immigration and Nationality rules if a person is born in a non-qualifying country but the spouse is born in a qualifying country this person will have a valid claim under country of birth of the spouse. For example, England is a non-qualifying country for this Program, however, a person born in England can apply provided the spouse is born in a qualifying country. Also if a person is born in a non-qualifying country but the parents are not born in that country or were not resident in that country at the birth point then this person can claim Nationality of the country of birth of either parent. For eample, if one of your parents was born in France and the other in Germany and you were born when they were living in Canada but you have not lived in Canada then you can choose either France or Germany to participate in lottery Program.

| 15. Why some countries are not qualified for the lottery Program? |
|
As per Laws of the USA, this type Visa is designed to prevent participation of nationals of countries with higher immigrant population ie nationalsof those countries with more than 55000 immigrants (family or work related) in the last 5 years. However, list of these countries chnage every year.

| 16. Is each applicant allowed one application only? |
|
Yes, the Laws allow only one application from each person during registration period. More than one application per person will disqualify that person from participation in lottery Program. Previous lottery Programs have no bearing participating in future Programs.
